{"id":552,"date":"2015-12-06T20:13:47","date_gmt":"2015-12-07T01:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/?p=552"},"modified":"2015-12-06T20:18:37","modified_gmt":"2015-12-07T01:18:37","slug":"to-do-figure-out-to-do-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/index.php\/2015\/12\/to-do-figure-out-to-do-list\/","title":{"rendered":"To-do: Figure out to-do list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week Kristin, Charlie, and I met a few times to figure out how to best utilize the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kanbanchi.com\/\">Kanbanchi<\/a> drive app for keeping track of progress on projects. Charlie made sure we had a solid framework of common terms to work with:<\/p>\n<p>project &#8211; the level right underneath &#8216;Iceland 2016&#8217;, for example &#8216;soil sensors&#8217;, &#8216;ambiance&#8217;, &#8216;field day&#8217;, &#8216;bird survey&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>list &#8211; the columns in the kanbanchi layout. The different lists within each project are determined at the project level.<\/p>\n<p>cards &#8211; the individual items within a list. Broadly speaking, cards are like tasks. They can be assigned to anyone shared on the document. They can contain documents, checklists, and tags. Cards can be given a &#8216;flag&#8217; that is named by the user. Cards can be given a color. We decided that <span style=\"color: #339966\">green<\/span> will signify tasks we are working on actively, <span style=\"color: #ffcc00\">yellow<\/span> will signify tasks we have not yet started,<span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> red<\/span> will signify tasks that were started but then ran into some sort of trouble (no supplies, something broke etc), and <span style=\"color: #808080\">grey<\/span> tasks we have completed (cards also have a &#8216;done&#8217; checkbox, for the extra satisfaction factor).<\/p>\n<p>Here is a picture of my kanbanchi layout for the soil sensor platform:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Screen-Shot-2015-12-06-at-7.59.21-PM1.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-555\" src=\"https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Screen-Shot-2015-12-06-at-7.59.21-PM1.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-12-06 at 7.59.21 PM\" width=\"1852\" height=\"1122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Screen-Shot-2015-12-06-at-7.59.21-PM1.png 1852w, https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Screen-Shot-2015-12-06-at-7.59.21-PM1-300x182.png 300w, https:\/\/fieldscience.cs.earlham.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Screen-Shot-2015-12-06-at-7.59.21-PM1-1024x620.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1852px) 100vw, 1852px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Sensor-wise, I am working on debugging the ph and conductivity probes. I have not been able to get any serial output from them but arduino isn&#8217;t given me any errors.
